Privacy
daftar asks you for your name, your email address and your scholarly work. You are entitled to know exactly what happens to all three.
This page is not finished, and we would rather say so
Our full privacy policy is being prepared with our legal advisers, so that it holds up in the places our contributors actually are — not only where our servers are. We would rather publish it late and correct than early and vague. It will appear here, in English, Farsi and Arabic, and we will tell you when it does.
What is already true, today
- We use no tracking cookies, no analytics, no telemetry and no third-party scripts. Not "none that we consider intrusive" — none at all.
- We hold no password for you, because there is no password. You sign in with a link we email you, or with a passkey whose private half never leaves your device.
- Your recordings, transcripts and records are yours. We are their custodian for as long as daftar exists, and you can download your own material for life — and if daftar ever winds down, you get your material before it does.
- Your name stays attached to the records you write. We say that before you start, because it is how the work can be vouched for.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing. There is no marketing.
- There is no public sign-up and there never will be. Every account exists because somebody was invited.
